Vintage 1970's light blue VICTORIAN style dress Gunne Sax by Jessica McClintock

From beloved designer, Jessica McClintock, comes this enchanting 1970's gown from her Gunne Sax line.. This romantic, maxi length dress or gown, comes in a pale blue color cotton blend fabric, with micro floral print in white.

The design is clearly Victorian -and a little bit Prairie- influenced, with high neckline, full length sleeves and some flouncy touches; ivory satin trim ribbon, white scallop-edged lace details, and faux pearl button closures at neckline and cuffs. The waistline is slightly raised, a la empire style, with two self fabric sash ties at either side of waist, and there is an interesting, inset zipper closure at center back. Lined in a lightweight nylon fabric at main body, but sleeves and neck remain unlined.

In fact, when I first got this dress, I got super excited because it arrived in a sort of sea foam green color (which I thought was totally unheard of for Gunne Sax dresses)... But then I washed it and voila it turned light blue!!

Fresh as a daisy, she's ready for her new home. Overall condition is excellent to near mint, with the only flaw being a pale yellow-ish stain at the tip of one of the sash ties -please review photographs for full details.

The labels read'Gunne Sax by Jessica McClintock, San Francisco, professionally dry clean only (hand wash with care okay), size 11'. 14.5 inches across from shoulder to shoulder. 26.5 inch sleeve length. Up to 38 inch bust.
