The bodice lace is intricate and beautiful. The back is closed by a zipper and ribbon.
After extensive research, I was unable to find another Sears & Roebuck dress just like this one. Sizing: Marked as a vintage size 12 but it's more like a modern size Extra Small or 0/2. It's closer to a child's size 12 than an adult woman's size 12, but this Sears tag was only sewn in adult garments. My mannequin, her name is Audrey, is a size small 4/6 for reference.I was unable to zip up the dress on Audrey. Defects: There are a few stains that I tried to photo as best as possible. There is also evidence of pinning around the bodice (also photod). No major damage or alterations. History: This dress was acquired from a family-owned theatre company that operated for decades in Halethorpe, Md. It has been used in one or more past theatrical or dance productions as a stage costume and is a true vintage original piece. All items from this estate were stored hanging on racks in a closed-down theatre space for many years. Each item has a special and unique performance background. Your dress may have been used to cell block tango in Chicago, square dance in Oklahoma's corn fields, or befriend a Nutcracker while evading the evil Mouse King. As is the case with costumes, it is possible that there have been alternations, pinning, stains, and damage from use. While every effort has been made to list any defects or changes to these pieces, I cannot be certain that every issue is listed. It is truly my goal to make each of my customers happy.
